EMERGENCY FIRE PUMP REGULATION (SOLAS)



1.     It would be fitted/located outside of E/R.
2.     It will have a connection from em'cy fire supply.
3.     It would be motor driven or engine driven.
4.     If motor driven, emergency power supply with heating arrangement.
5.     It should be capable of supply two jets of water at a time, of 12.5 mm dia and throw of 12 meter with a pressure of - 2.8 bar for 6000 GRT or above.
                                            - 2.6 bar for 1000~6000 GRT.
6.     Should have 40 % capacity of the main fire p/p.
7.     Should not less than 25 m3/hr.
8.     Suction lift not more than 4.5 meters (for positive displacement p/p)
Suction lift not more than 2.0 meters (for centrifugal p/p with priming unit.)
9.     Can be started 6 times – 30 min.
                        2 times – 10 min.
10.          Fuel tank capacity full load min–3 hours & in reserve tank fuel should have for 15 hrs
11.          No direct access from E/R.
12.          Structural fire protection.
13.          Separate compartment for main emergency fire pump.
