1. Ships built after 1986. 
2. Withstand exposure at least 30 days at sea.
3. Withstand drop from at least 18 m.
4. Withstand repeated jumps on to it by crew from at least 4.5 m.
5. Fully laden speed 3 knots.
6. Canopy to protect occupants.
7. 2 entrance if >8 persons.
8. At least 1 viewing port.
9. Means of collect rain water.
10. Provide insulation against heat or cold.
11. Min. capacity 6 persons.
12. All should be able to board within 3 min from when order is given.
