ANS: PRESS THE INJURED SPOT WITH THE CLEAN HAND. IF CLEAN CLOTH IS AVAILABLE PLACE IT ON THE INJURED PLACE AND APPLY PRESSURE UNIT IT STOPS BLEEDING.
IF BLEEDING DOES NOT STOP RAISE THE INJURED PLACE ABOVE THE HEART LEVEL .
APPLY TOURNIQUET (A STRIP OF RUBBER OR CLOTH) PUT JUST BEFORE THE INJURY AND APPLY PRESSURE.

Monthly inspections
1. All stop valves are in the closed position;
2. All releasing controls are in the proper position and readily accessible for immediate use;
3. All discharge piping and pneumatic tubing is intact and has not been damaged.
4. All high pressure cylinders are in place and properly secured; and
5.  The alarm devices are in place and do not appear damaged.
 Annual inspections        
1. the boundaries of the protected space should be visually inspected to confirm that no modifications have been made to the enclosure that have created uncloseable openings that would render the system ineffective;
2. all storage containers should be visually inspected for any signs of damage, rust or loose mounting hardware. Cylinders that are leaking, corroded, dented or bulging should be hydro-statically retested or replaced;
3. system piping should be visually inspected to check for damage, loose supports and corrosion. Nozzles should be inspected to ensure they have not been obstructed by the storage of spare parts or a new installation of structure or machinery;
4. the manifold should be inspected to verify that all flexible discharge hoses and fittings are properly tightened;

5 YEARS MAINTENANCE:
THE SERVO CYLINDER  AND ANY REMOTE CONTROLLED STOP VALVES TO BE TESTED BY OPENING ONE PILOT CYLINDER. PRESS. TEST CARRIED OUT AT 250 BAR.
SPRING LOADED SAFETY VALVE S TO BE TESTED.
CHECK HP ALARMS WHICH OPERATES AT HIGH PRESSURE.

10 YEARS MAINTENCE:
BOTTLES TO BE INTERNALLY INSPECTED.
SYPHON TUBE OR DIP TUBE TO BE INSPECTED.
IF THE SHIP IS 20 YEARS OLD THE PRESSURE TEST TO BE CARRIED OUT AT 5 YEARS  OLD.
15 YEARS AND5 YEARS THEREAFTER:
PRESSURE TEST ALL HP PIPES, STOP VALVE STO ER , PUMP ROOM, PURIFIER ROOM , ETC. AT 190 BAR,
PRESSURE PIPES AT 80 BAR
 LOW PRESSURE PIPES AT 7 BAR
AFTER THE HYD. PRESSURE TESTING  LINES TO BE  BLOWN THROUGH BY DRY AIR.

1. The employment, engagement or work on board a ship of any person under
the age of 16 shall be prohibited.
2. Night work of seafarers under the age of 18 shall be prohibited
The limits on hours of work or rest shall be as follows:
(a) maximum hours of work shall not exceed:
(i) 14 hours in any 24-hour period; and
(ii) 72 hours in any seven-day period;
or
(b) minimum hours of rest shall not be less than:
(i) ten hours in any 24-hour period; and
(ii) 77 hours in any seven-day period.
6. Hours of rest may be divided into no more than two periods, one of which
shall be at least six hours in length, and the interval between consecutive periods of rest
shall not exceed 14 hours.
