Q. What are the causes of black out? What will be your action?

Causes of black out -

1.      If L.O pr. Suddenly drop.

2.      T/C oil pr. Drop.

3.      F.O supply has cutout.

4.      If control rack of fuel at zero position.

5.      T/C damage.

6.      Cooling water supply stop.

Action -

1.      Inform bridge and C/E.

2.      Engineers alarm to get help.

3.      Identify the cause.

4.      Start another generator.

5.      Reset of alarm of black out generator.

6.      Rectify the problem.

7.      Start the generator and observe.
