How you will prepare the thrust block during survey?

Preparation before survey –

Ensure the following paper work is to have –

a)     Copies of previous survey report.

b)    Hours running from last survey.

c)     Copies of planned maintenance report.

d)    Record of clearances

e)     Manufacturers recommended tolerances.

f)      Spare parts are available onboard.

g)     Certified tools available onboard.

           Dismantling procedure:

a)     Take out bearing casing.

b)    Take out oil spreader and dismantle stopper pipe.

c)     Fit long eye bolt in pad with shackle.

d)    Pad lift out from housing.

e)     Pad housing is turned out from casing and lifted out.

f)      Remove screw on back plate.

g)     All dismantled parts cleaned for surveyor inspection.
